On Thursday morning ArcticTropic boarded SAA 204 from JFK New York to JNB Johannesburg, South Africa.

For the next 15 hours, snugly in Seat 52A ,lots of reading was accomplished. There’s not much to see as the flight is almost entirely over water. Some lights were seen below a gigantic thunderstorm in the middle of the night over Liberia,Guinea, or Sierra Leone. The last 2 hours is over Namibia, Botswana and then South Africa.

African Sunrise.

Southern Hemisphere Spring. THe temperature was only a few degrees warmer than chilly New York, but the foliage is very different,
More photos to follow as I am returning to the airport to fly to Windhoek,Namibia.

Last week ArcticTropic headed to San Francisco on business – to explore financial opportunities that will allow us to expand exponentially.  Since natural beauty abounds everywhere – it was easy to get great footage without traveling too far from the various meeting places.

Coming back into the City from Marin County at sunset. September is summer in the Bay Area – the normal cold grey cloak of fog lifts for a couple of months, allowing for spectacular views.

The 1969 mile ( 3169 KM ) border between The United States and Mexico is the world’s busiest. These photos were taken on both ends- California/Baja California Norte and Texas/Tamaulipas-Nuevo Leon in 2002- before anti-immigrant hysteria took hold – creating the failed attempts to make the border the world’s most fortified.
