To travelers from the Northern Hemisphere , the Echidna is a strange little animal. It is an egg laying mammal , one of only two members of the monotreme family, the other being the duck billed platypus. It’s snout is perfect for eating ants and the porcupine-like quills frighten away predators, though it likes to be pet by humans
